(23,295 posts)Do you worry about getting sick when Covid positive patients are coming into the clinic? My neighbor is a critical care nurse at our local hospital and she told me yesterday that all ICU beds are full of covid patients and all of them are under the age of 53. It is as bad now as it ever was here in western MT.

(66,286 posts)we have them drive to the clinic, and call us from the parking lot. We send our lab guy out to their car in gloves, goggles, mask, gown, etc to get specimens for testing. They never enter the clinic where other patients or medical team members are. For patients with no evident symptoms who are presenting for other medical concerns, they wear a mask for the whole visit, and I wear mask, gloves, etc.

(86,330 posts)Oral surgery, a few session required, and I have to call from the parking lot and wear a mask until in the chair.
Knowing that I live in a place where only a small percentage are vaxxed or wear masks, I have continued to self isolate for the sake of those working on me. I feel I have a responsibility to protect them as well.
