6:10 am and the kittens have already worn me out!

Two escaped on the journey from the playroom to the den, where I feed them. I'm still feeding them in 'containers' so the bigger sisters won't end up eating their food AND then start on their brother's dishes. I did a lot of searching, chasing, but finally got them all to their dishes. Now they are (hopefully) snoozing in their zipped closed play pen. I think I'll start transporting them in a pet carrier.

The den is now their domain. I have the door-less door way blocked with a BIG plastic tub, open top facing the den. I have to do a big stretch step to get over it, myself, so I kind of guess I can call it exercise. So far they aren't big enough to get past it. I guess when they are, it's time to give up on trying to corral them. OR get a higher barrier, although I'm not sure how much higher I can step over.

Now I'm waiting for Skittish, Mittens and Scooter to announced their arrival by setting off the Blink motion detector.

Sometimes she will be in the same room with them but if one of them approaches, she gets up and takes off. I've got everything set up so that she still has run of the house - she just has to jump over a few barriers.

Maybe when there are fewer she will feel less 'intimidated'.

…and they haven’t slowed down at all. If anything, they’re even more hyper than ever (and that’s saying a lot)!

Then suddenly all is quiet, which means they’re exhausted and fell asleep. Then it starts again. They’re such a trip to watch — what athletes!!! No wonder they can eat such enormous meals and demand more food a half hour later.

In the past, I’ve only ever adopted adult cats, so this has been an eye-opener for me.

But I wouldn’t trade them for anything

I go out and do some yard work and then think 'I'd better check on the kittens.' Then I spend the next couple of hours watching them, petting them having them fall asleep on my lap. Suffice it to say, I'm falling behind on everything but kitten cuddling.

Whenever I come near the kittens, they automatically start purring. It's so sweet.

If they aren't asleep they're bouncing off the walls.
