I removed a bunch of cactus pads...the haul must have weighed about 300 pounds. I just wanted to get rid of them.
This was after the freeze when lots of people lost their cactus, but my variety was super-hardy.
I put an ad on Nextdoor that they were free...I think someone picked up a pad or two. So, we had to spend four weeks loading up our compost bin. The first week, the city could not lift the bin because it was too heavy. So we spaced the cactus out over three loads.....
Cactus are super easy to start from pads...Just stick them in the ground and they grow....
