Trebeck always had a mystique like you felt he could go on the other side of the podium and hold his own. I think thats sort of important setting jeopardy apart from lets make a deal or any other game show.

I posted the below Wednesday on another thread where the poster had suggested KJ for the role:

Ken's run into problems with his past tweets also.

Wall Street Journal is reporting that's what cost KJ the hosting job. He'd be put through the ringer also.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the show’s golden boy, Ken Jennings, was set to be Alex Trebek’s host successor for the game show, only to lose the gig after old tweets resurfaced from his social-media account in late 2020. The tweets, which Jennings described as “unartful and insensitive” in an apology, included a widely circulated joke from 2014, which read, “nothing sadder than a hot person in a wheelchair.”

Assuming Buzzy Cohen doesn't have any skeletons in his social media closet or elsewhere, he gets my vote.

I keep stressing this point to my grandkids - to be careful about what they post b/c it may come back to haunt them many years later. A few careless words today can make a huge difference in the path of one's future. They're off to college...hopefully my words will ring in their ears!

I tell the same thing to the HS seniors I teach. I'm glad it wasn't around when I was young and stupid. Not sure Ken Jennings can use that excuse.

Honestly, I really disliked him as a contestant, but he's won me over with his hosting abilities. He looks good, sounds good, and keeps the game moving along. He's by far my top choice.
