Cat Instantly Regrets Escaping Outside

1. Our CA cat jumped off our balcony in Idaho into a snowdrift - what a reaction!

We'd moved in midwinter. His first time outside he jumped off into a drift 2-3 feet deep. He leaped straight up, yowling, scrambled onto the stairs, ran back through the open door and dived under the bed.

He eventually adapted, grew a winter coat and burrow into pine needles under a big pine tree if caught out during snowy weather, but what a first day in Idaho for a cat that had never seen snow before.
