My oldest son and his boyfriend have covid.

They are both fully vaccinated. Their other roommate, who is also vaccinated, got sick first and is symptomatic, although not bad enough to go to the doctor. My son works at the hospital that is attached to the clinic where I work and when he received his positive results today they sent him home immediately with 10 days off, fully paid. Neither my son nor his partner is symptomatic. They are going to bunker down in their apartment during the next week and I'm going to leave groceries or whatever they need at their door.

All three of these kids are careful as hell; they wear masks outside their apartment, got their vaccines, etc. My son's partner is a nursing student. The delta variant is so contagious, if you're exposed, you'll probably get infected. Please, everyone, be careful. It can happen to any of us.

May he and his partner stay asymptotic and not be affected in any way.

... they will be okay. What's really nice is how considerate they are of others - those they would have contacted might include non-vaccinated and higher risk people. Hope they recover quickly!

They get up every day, do their job, risk their lives. And it is fairly thankless.

My daughter is a nurse practitioner and works in a hospital. She masks up all the time.
I guess we have to let the vaccine do its job and pray it protects our kids.

BTW Many grocery stores will deliver, your son can order online and have it delivered.
Many restaurants will deliver as well.

But I tend to fuss a bit when my daughter is ill and want to make sure she is OK.
