I think she's pretty talented. I first heard her music in a taxi, and I am not even really much of a country music fan.
The song was "Ex's and Oh's" and it was one of those songs I liked the first time I heard it (it's very catchy). Her lyrics are pretty feministic, or maybe even kind of misanthropic, depending on your take. It kind of makes me wonder what she's been through in her life.

(19,543 posts)The first movie my old flame and I went to see after being apart for 20 years.
This was our "reunion song".
Reunion lasted 6 months.

(19,543 posts)When we parted last time.
Getting back together over 50 was a shock.
In the duration, she had married and lost her hub to alcohol, a slow lingering death, and she was still mourning him.
And I foolishly was expecting her to be the same 20 something in an older body.
It was a learning experience.

(63,221 posts)But at least you got a chance to find out what would happen if you did get back together, so in a way there was some closure.
Most of us still have that person out there "the one who got away" or just the person whom you had bad timing with that we will never have the chance to find out if things could have ever worked. After so much time, our lives have just taken such different courses and who knows if we will ever meet again, and even if we did, would it even be the same?
Oh well, I guess we just have to accept where we are right now in our lives and try to be grateful. Things could always be worse!
