The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsTo my horror, a couple of the kittens are now able to BREACH the barricade at the den door!!
So, I think I have outdone myself in coming up with a temporary solution. A slick yard sign on a pressure rod in front of the tub that allows the height of the barricade to be adjusted. I'm going to put another rod at the bottom for more stability. (I've blocked out the company so as to not be suspected of trying to drum up more business for them, although they ARE a great company, IMHO.) I just really want Sophie to be able to have a 'safe haven', AND I want to be able to keep track of where these angels are, until I can get the rest of the house ready for them.
I thought I'd be down to 2, by this weekend, and that would be a little more manageable for someone as anxiety prone as yours truly, who STILL worries I'm going to make a major mistake or miss some hazard.
Honestly, who designs a house with no den door???

(11,686 posts)cat who could jump onto an outside window seal without touching the side of the house at 10 feet? Yes, I saw him do it several times. Very smoothly in fact.
Sophie has always been a good jumper, but not THAT good. There's a window between the den and the added on screened in porch that has no screen. I open it and she is able to come and go via that portal, too. She just chooses not to use it if it will make my life easier. However, if it is closed, and the door is open, she will sit at that window and stare until I either open it, or physically carry her into the house, via the open door.
Ah, cats.

(13,396 posts)were somehow. I could tell after work. The little stinkers wouldn't do it when I was watching.
One night I'm like sunken into my recliner, watching a movie in the dark, and here comes the black cat ninja's. One of them up on a kitchen table chair, then up on the back, then makes the leap to the counter it can just barely make!
I get up and put the phone book right in the landing area, but hanging over the ledge just a little. I go back to my movie, and after awhile, here they come again. Sure enough, the bold one makes the leap, lands on the phone book, phone books slides off, and poor kitty is scrambling to get up, but goes down with the book!
That was funny, but I really didn't care all that much, and in a few weeks, they could get up there any which way. There was no stopping them.

If I am down to 2 (hopefully) by next weekend, I'll worry a little less about losing one. However, nighttime will still be spent in the playroom. I can do without that en suite bathroom for as long as it takes.

app on my phone, I can beep them and find out where they hiding.
Quite lightweight, and you can choose a different tune for each device. There are several styles. I have one of the styles with a replaceable battery.
You can Google TILE and see everything they have to offer.
