Richardson, Texas, U.S. Bette Nesmith Graham (March 23, 1924 – May 12, 1980) was an American typist, commercial artist, and the inventor of the correction fluid Liquid Paper. She was the mother of musician and producer Michael Nesmith of The Monkees.

There was a blond joke one that had the person putting white out on the monitor. It was a list of cartoon images. God, that was 26 years ago. Jesus.

I used to tell my assistant to turn the pages upside down when we were sending a fax to Australia, so it would come out the right way.

They prefer a single line strikethrough on mistakes, with legible rewrite, followed by initials or signatures and date of correction. At one job, Liquid Paper was treated like contraband.

I wasn't allowed to use Liquid Paper in case there was ever a law suit concerning a patient. (It would look as though something was trying to be changed/hidden, esp. if it concerned a number.)

But what I still don't understand is why corrective white ribbon was allowed. The mistake may have been made "invisible", but you could still see the indentation on the paper when the typewriter key hit.

BTW, Liquid Paper was invented by the mother of Michael Nesmith of The Monkees.

Correction ribbon was good when you were typing the original document without having removed the paper from the platen.

While I'm sure some people had mad alignment skills, re-inserting a page and getting it to line up to use correction ribbon would not be as accurate.

I love how email has a "cc" line for "carbon copy".
