(1,786 posts)There is no need to unplug it. That is, if you have a laptop on and your browser open, then maybe you would want to. and the only reason to do that is if you are downloading a large file and then you need it plugged in.

(10,044 posts)They all eat electricity so off they go, but actually it comes from back in the days when lightening could hit a building or pole and knock out the TV's, ruining them. We now have underground lines but I still do it.
