I'm looking for new comedy series to watch on Netflix or Amazon Prime. I've already seen a lot and like things like Cheers and the Big Bang Theory. Some other favorites include Frasier, That 70s Show, American Dad, 3rd Rock From the Sun and The Simpsons (seasons 3-9).

(102,138 posts)There is something rather amusingly simple and soothing about the show. I still watch episodes when I have had a rough day.
I also recommend Doc Martin.

(14,852 posts)I went on a British comedy binge a few years ago, after asking some Brits online what they recommended, and that was my favorite! And it turned out to be one of the least-mentioned by the Brits, who apparently had a different sense of humor than me.
I even liked it more than Fawlty Towers.

Well, "more normal" than them in general. Jen had her bizarre moments too.
The dinner party episode, with blind dates, was especially funny to me!

I'm now hooked on an "R" rated one (language) on Netflix - Loudermilk. CRAZY funny!

(204,789 posts)It was about 4 Republican senators who share a house in D.C. One of the stars is John Goodman, Wanda Sykes plays their Democratic neighbor, Amy Sedaris pays one of the senator's wives and Rachel Maddow made an appearance later on in the series. I was hoping they'd film another season (there were 2 "seasons" ).

(82,849 posts)It starts out as kind of a Rumpole of the Bailey criminal law procedural, but it spirals away from that after a season or two. I liked it.

'Childrens Hospital' might be another good choice. Megan Mullally is extremely talented!
