Motormouth on Parking Breaks
Cannot find it online but I think it is important enough to post in a general forum and not in the Autos group
"Although more cars are equipped with electric parking brakes, for which this is not an issue, others still have a cable system. Regular use keeps the cables free o corrosion. If you have never used the parking brakes and apply them, the cables may freeze, preventing the brakes from being released."
Will have to check on my 2014 KIA Soul. I rarely use the parking break.
