(26,262 posts)After all of these months of stress, worry and isolation, these kittens have made a huge change in my life. I really look forward to seeing their little faces, every morning, and watching them play. And eat. And sleep. I think taking them and watching them thrive in is one of the most satisfying things I've ever done.

(6,866 posts)The noun for kittens is "kindle." The OP picture looks like a kindle of kittens, but the comment I was replying to used "cat," so I did too.

(26,262 posts)When I first found them, I thought he had the saddest expression on his face. It just broke my heart. Now that he's growing, his face has changed.
I think the sisters (the gray ones) are going to be real beauties. Little Squeaky (the black one) is a total snuggle bug sweetheart, but don't get in his way at meal time. He was so scrawny when I found them that I have no doubt he battled his siblings for milk. He still goes face and feet first into his food bowl. I really have no doubt he wouldn't have thrived as a feral.

(21,453 posts)She was the runt in her litter. When I got her at 9 weeks, she was so tiny that she looked like she was just 6 weeks old. The woman who owned the mother told me that Ember had to fight for a feeding spot with mama. After her litter mates were given away, she had mom to herself and made up for lost time.
She was very feisty, a fighter and semi feral at first when I took her home. Grabbed every piece of food that she saw.
She is 5 years old now, and a large kitty. About 2 feet long (shoulders to rump), but it's hard to know for sure since she plays with the measuring stick every time I try to use it. A little over 12" high at the shoulders - I think. She has mellowed some, but is still very active and playful, just not so quick to fight anymore since she has no competition now.
At her current size, she can hold her own well and I pity anyone who would try to cross her now.

(113,302 posts)Scared little babies into these adorable, confident cuties is one of the highlights of my daily routine. Thank you for sharing your heart, your home, your love, with them, and, by extension, with us. Lady Bast sends Her blessings for caring for Her little ones, including the female and Miss Sophie.

(268,997 posts)When I went to feed the cats this afternoon, I didn't see the little kitten - then he crawled out from behind a flowerpot almost laughing at me. They really make us smile.
This little ginger one is adorable She's already tame and starting to play with the toys and everything else in sight.
