The theme for Japanese names for days of the week is clear. It's based on nature.
They are:
sun day - 日曜日
moon day - 月曜日
fire day - 火曜日
water day - 水曜日
wood day - 木曜日
metal day - 金曜日
earth day - 土曜日
I was wondering what the theme for the English names are.
Here they are:
sun day
moon day
Tyr day - (Norse god of war)
Woden day - (Norse god of wisdom)
Thor day - (Norse god of thunder)
Freya day - (Norse god of love)
saturn day
So most of our days are named after Marvel Comic superheros.
English! Get your shit together! Geez.
