I ain't taking no chances!
But I'm having some side effects.
Update: back home. They are still doing shots. The vaccine is in high demand at my Walgreens.
My first two the doctor wanted me to take it in office. They were still iffy about it and MS. You never know how the MS may react.
But now I can go to the pharmacy like everybody else. For me, a lot has turned back to normal.

(14,120 posts)Apparently other MS sufferers have reported this too.

(46,953 posts)I was sicker than with the second shot.
But it could be my fault since I got the flu shot with the booster and it was perhaps too much at one time.
My daughter who is a nurse practitioner says it is good news since it means my immune system is really kicking in.

(14,120 posts)Got to wait till a couple of weeks after the shot.

(46,953 posts)And I had just read some new research that it was OK to take the flu and booster together now.
In fact they are considering combining the two together in the future..
Previously they said it was not a good idea.
If I had to do it over again, I would not combine the two.

(14,120 posts)things back to normal for me. Along with masks, many things like going to the store is way less scary.

(46,953 posts)I am feeling much better about doing some normal things.
Yes I am still wearing masks too but going to the grocery is much less scary.

(11,097 posts)I miles out of my area of expertise, but a reaction to a third shot sounds like your immune system learned from the initial vax and came out swinging.
I'm envious of the third shot. I'll be way down the list

(46,953 posts)Three days of being sick made me feel like the booster was really doing its job.
Yes the initial shot prepared me for the second shot and booster.
I didn't even think I was eligible for the booster. But I happened to read the fine print on the CVS covid vaccine website.
I thought I had to have some sort of serious illness to get it.
But the requirements indicated that if you are on high dose steroids for any reason, you are eligible.
And I have some GI problems treated with high dose steroids.
So I booked an appointment, I was all prepared with the name of the illness, medication, and name of the doctor involved. Pharmacist who gave the injection, didn't care or ask to see my documentation at all. He just gave me the jab, no questions asked. I was really surprised.
So you might want to read the actual requirements and see if you are eligible.

(11,097 posts)I'm in reasonably good health for a broken-down old guy. No health issues, no long-term meds, nothing.
Irish_Dem
(46,953 posts)But you are probably right, you are not going to find something on the CVS site if you are in good health and not on meds.

(14,120 posts)The line at Walgreens just to get the vaccine circled around to the front doors. Social Distancing is being used.
Irish_Dem
(46,953 posts)You have to make an appointment for the booster, just like the first two shots.
I was really surprised that the Pharmacist didn't ask me to provide any documentation about my illness making me eligible for the booster. He just gave me the jab and that was it.

(14,120 posts)And everyone over 50 are lining up. I was even thank by a few for doing what they said " My civic duty ". Made me feel good really.
