The vet opens at 8 so I'll be in the parking lot about 5 minutes early. They have you check in, go back to your car, and wait to be called but going in at 8 sometimes gets me straight in.
Sophie is still being a REALLY fussy eater so I might take her in, tomorrow. I'd take her today but I want the kitten(s) who are traveling, this weekend, to be at least a day past their vaccinations. I will mention the issue to the vet and maybe he has some advice.
I accept that she's going on 14 so health problems are likely to start showing up. However, this behavior didn't start until the kittens moved into the den.
Which reminds me - I should dose her with her CBD before I leave. That's a whole lot of fun but I think I have my technique down. To her credit, she never tries to scratch or nip me.

He did suggest I bring Sophie in, just to make sure it isn't just kitten stress that's causing her stress grooming (which is much better since I started her on CBD) and her lack of appetite. She does look likes she gained a little weight back but given her age, I'd rather be sure.
I think my biggest mistake was not getting another cat, after Boudicca died. Sophie got too comfortable being an 'only child'.

Like you, before you rescued the kittens, we only have only one adult cat left. We have more senior checkups since Moppit reached the age of 16. We have to mix prescription Gabapentin with her wet food 2 hours before office visits for a mild sedation. Moppit doesn't like being touched unless it's on her own terms and at the food dish. It reduces her stress levels and makes for a more pleasant exam experience for her and the vet. The last time she was at the vets (without being given a mild sedative) she wacked one of the techs right across their hand and drew blood.
So I completely understand about giving Sophie CBD for a calming effect before vet office visits.
