I have NO idea how she got out. I was there, the whole time. It was time to feed the ferals and to feed me so I was gathering them up to put in the play pen and turned my back for ONE SECOND.
Yesterday they broke the lid of an antique candy bowl that wasn't even in the den, but on a shelf NEXT to the den. It fell on carpeting but because of its age, it must be very fragile. Hopefully I can repair it. Suffice it to say that I've blocked that little breach with a BIG, cardboard clan map of Scotland. I'm using what ever looks sturdy. Now to figure out how she got out! And, of course, afterwards she cuddle up on my lap and fell asleep.

(102,418 posts)stopped striving for the "best-trained" or the "best-behaved" and take my expectations down to "pretty good." I sort of enjoy an independent streak. That said, sorry about your antique bowl...

Once the two head to Chicago, I hope to slowly open up the rest of the house. I have a 3 season room that, once reorganized, will be perfect for them, most of the year.
I really think this will continue to be a 'learn as I go' situation, for quite a while. Sophie and Boudicca were never nurtured when they were kittens, and they were older (Sophie about 6 months and Boudicca 1 year) when I rescued them. They weren't well socialized and were never particularly mischievous. These kittens are a WHOLE new game. It's been so much fun watching them thrive and grow.

The sooner you accept this the better. Remember, if the cat ain't happy ain't nobody happy.

(10,465 posts)Nebelungs are long-haired gray cats, especially with green eyes. There's probably a Russian Blue in her background. They are beautiful, gentle, but playful kitties. My Tynan is one.
