9. Our 'agreed distance' is starting to shrink

Every morning Mittens and Scooter are right at the door, impatiently waiting for me to bring them their dish of food. Then they come by, again, about an hour before dusk.

If they are late, I start to worry.

11. Mittens and Scooter are feral kittens that live in my neighbor's yard. Their mom is Skittish Kitty

She had 4 kittens. Little Tuxie just disappeared, and then I found Spooky Jr, deceased, beneath some bushes. So all that's left are Mittens and Scooter.

The four kittens I have inside I rescued from my squash garden. Their mom is named Spooky.

I actually tried to figure out a way to catch Skittish's kittens, too, but by the time they started coming to my yard, they were just far too fast and I didn't have a trap. I wish I had tried harder to come up with something, because then little Tuxie and Spooky Jr would still be alive. AND I named him Spooky Jr because I was under the impression Spooky was a tom cat, and the kitten had a strong resemblance. I was beyond shocked when I realized Spooky was a female.

I grabbed her kittens before she could move them. I really, really want to cut back on the feral population so these 4 kittens are now out of it, and we are going to try to TNR as many of the others as we can. Unfortunately, Skittish is pregnant, again, and she dens in an area that is absolutely impossible to access.

And, yea, I am obsessed with naming any cat/kitten that frequents my yard. There's also a huge tom I've named Bruiser.

It’s the “Are you gonna feed me, or what?”

I have a male cat visitor who comes to get fed, which I started doing because he looked too thin. He used to sneak in because I open the patio door all day during good weather.

This is him below telling me to feed him!



He has a home but I don’t think his owner feeds him that well. He can scarf down a can of cat food without much trouble. He inhales it basically.

My cat is in my sig line below. He’s King Tut.
