I used to love the single baked items, such as donuts, from my local King Soopers. For the past few months they don't at all look appetizing. They look like it was someone's "first day" attempt. Very easy to resist.
At the beginning of the pandemic I had a hard time following a good diet and gained a good 10 pounds. And now it's gone! I'm pleased.

(23,061 posts)I've gone from obese to normal for BMI. I never was sure how to eat sensibly and husband, who is the cook, hates KETO. We tried intermittent fasting (he's diabetic so really needs to lose weight) but he hated that too. He is a foodie, so likes WW better because nothing is totally off limits. My issues were sweets and snacking and I like WW because the online app gives me the information I need to help guide my choices and to know what volumes to use. Like 1 teaspoon of regular peanut butter is 3 points and 1 tablespoon is 6 pts.
At one point I think what I was doing was intermittent fasting. I didn't eat between 5 p.m. and 9 a.m., and I also kept a daily log of what I ate to keep a grip on calorie count. A big bonus of that was that I slept better.
I know a lot of my slips have been because I was bored. As long as I can find distractions, I do okay.
I hope your husband gets his diabetes under control.

(23,061 posts)He's a type 2 diabetic and it's the first time his A1C has been normal in years. So happy! It's still at the top of the range, so we're hoping for even better improvement when he gets tested again. Trying to get him to make other small changes that will improve it even more - so thanks for the well wishes.
