All the BS, especially with the right wing nut jobs and the republican party. I probably pay too much attention, but I don't want to stick my head in the sand. So I try looking at some local news, maybe take a break. Tonite it was about 3 assholes beating up a 50 year old man from a road rage incident. Didn't say what set it off but they had video of 3 guys beating the guy down. I try to just look at my own life and its not bad, but the state of society can be depressing, Maybe I should cut the news off in the evening, sometimes keeps me awake.

(549 posts)There I said it. Im Sick of seeing American flags flying everywhere while the American people especially the young are getting the big red white and blue d*ldo jammed up their arses. An entitled boomer me me generation that had the world handed to them on a silver platter going around telling young people to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. And I'm 65 years old

(69,806 posts)and it does seem to be getting worse. i think the trauma of the last few years, topped w a deadly plague, is cracking a lot of us who have been very strong in the past.
worst part is how that all spirals. i've had grief from neighbors over my farm from the get-go, but it had calmed down. then last year, kablooie. and i did not respond well. at.all.
now i just want nothing to do with people, but i dont have that choice.

(45,640 posts)Go do something else besides the news.
I only read the news now here on DU, don't watch any form of TV news.
I take breaks and watch movies online.
It helps.
If the evening news is interfering with your sleep, yes by all means switch to something else after supper.
Watch/read the news during the day only.
