dear du. are there any hardcore animation fans out there .
ive been watching a old cartoon called the " skeleton dance "
1929 by disney. black and white . no voices so i call it a silent sound film.
here are the stats .nitial release: August 22, 1929
Director: Walt Disney
Music by: Carl W. Stalling; Edvard Grieg ("March of the Trolls", from Lyric Suite)
Animation by: Ub Iwerks; Les Clark; Wilfred Jackson
so lets paint the scene,,,https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Skeleton_Dance
what i want to know is who puts in certain elements .
exampe : there is a skeleton coming into foreground and back ground , who came up with that idea . after the dance they kind of loose it for me untill the end title where the rooster crows and roll end credits . who is responsible for the films makeup and who decides the soundscape . most cartoons are drawen around the dialoge , idk. in one year 1930 disney will have invented the storyboard which is a standard feature today. i know in modern things they have focus groups and even animators own ideas sometimes get approved . have a grand day du. thanks for listening.

(6,635 posts)is referring to is that there is no spoken voice "dialogue." Many (most?) "silent" films had accompanying live musical scores written for them, and even some sound effects, but the films had no soundtrack. Although this cartoon has a soundtrack, it has no dialogue.
