"Breathe through your nose."I heard it twice while watching my Twilight Zone DVDs (original series). Both times, it was said to someone who seemed a bit excited or agitated about something.
I'm almost 69 and never heard it till now. Maybe it's a regional thing?
Thanks!!

Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth will lower your heart rate and your blood pressure.
When calming is needed - Smell the roses, blow out the candle.

My crazy mother-in-law used to say: "Kids-I'm going home to lay on my back and breathe thru my mouth. She was hilarious.

to teach him how to breathe throw his nose, as he suffered from asthma related issues. Breathing through the nose and keeping the mouth closed helps regulate the breathing.

So it's another way to say 'calm down'... makes sense.
