Is there Covid testing in airports where Covid tests are available?

I am planning a trip to Spain and found that a negative Covid test for the past 72 hours is required before I can get into the country. I will be departing from Boston's Logan Airport. Even if I have proof of my being fully vaccinated (even with a booster), I still need the results from that test. The incident on The View tv show made me think that even if vaccinated I could still test positive and the cost of my plane ticket, not to mention my hotel stay, would be lost.

Again, to enter Spain I must have my vaccine and booster card PLUS a negative Covid test done in the past 72 hours.

I don't see any way out of this....

Wouldn’t it be better to wait in line at the airport, where everything is designed for your personal convenience?

Sadly, you are wrong if I am very aware of my privilege to have enough money to travel. And yes, that is a "first world problem."

I would like to travel. I am an art historian (sorry) and I travel for a major purpose in my life and Barcelona and Paris are two places with the art I am seeking to enjoy and write about. That is, Euro-centric art by such suspects as Picasso, Gaudi, Velasquez. All white males.

I am writing a book which will contain, among other white artists, the art of two black artists: Augusta Savage and Ernie Barnes. That is "not enough" and I am aware of that.

This is very central to my life's purpose. YMMV.

4. Yes, and if I tested positive I would have to quarantine. How long is that?

I should have posed this question better, sorry. If I am symptom free and have had adequate dosage of the vaccine, how would the airline deal with the fare issue or do I wait to buy a ticket until after I Covid tested and still within the 72 hours?

This is how it will be for travel from now on. Most music venues I know of have the same rules. Vax+negative test within 72 hours. Gotta plan ahead and stay out of situations where you can get infected.

These U.S. and International Airports Have COVID-19 Testing Facilities
Dec 15, 2020

For those who need to travel during the coronavirus pandemic, here’s what the U.S. Centers of Disease Control and Prevention now recommends regarding how to use COVID-19 testing to help minimize risk:

-Get tested 1–3 days before your flight—make sure to have actual results (not pending results) prior to traveling.
-If you have a positive result, do not travel.
-Get tested 3–5 days after your flight.
-Stay home for 7 days after traveling, even if you test negative.

If you test positive for COVID-19 after you travel, isolate yourself and follow public health recommendations. Do not travel until you are no longer considered a transmission risk—this includes your return trip home.

Where you can get tested before takeoff or after landing.

A growing number of U.S. airports has begun introducing COVID-19 testing options in an effort to help spur safer domestic and international travel amid the coronavirus pandemic. These tests can assist passengers heading to or arriving in destinations where proof of negative COVID-19 test results are required, such as Hawaii, New York, and Alaska. And they can also be used for travelers hoping to ensure a safer onward journey by getting tested.

to Paris where we'll stay for 4 days before returning to Boston.

My daughter and I will have to plan this out. I'm sure the airlines are really mindful of all Covid restrictions and have adjusted as a result.

11. I just went through this, we're leaving for Italy tomorrow morning.

Per EU regulations we (my wife & I) had to have our test swabs taken no more than 72 hours prior to arrival in Italy. That meant we got swabbed at CVS Saturday morning (free test), first available time slot. It took 2 days for results, so this evening we were all packed up with suitcases in the car about an hour before we got results.

Thankfully we both tested negative so the suitcases stayed in the car & we're leaving tomorrow morning as planned. If either of us had tested positive we would have delayed our trip.

There's also the hassle of uploading images of all your COVID related documents into the EU Passenger Locator system so you can get your Passenger Locator Form which I believe is necessary to get an EU Green Pass. Plus, we need to have a negative test in Italy before we return to the US so we ordered 2 home test kits from a company that provides that service so we can drop off swabs & get our results electronically before we board the return flight. We're flying United so of course we had to send images of vaccination cards plus the test results to them too before we could check in for the flight (we check in from home whenever we can using the airline's app).

Travelling to the EU is quite a hassle right now.

All I have is my vaccination card (CDC) which officially recorded the dates of my Pfizer tests. My daughter is tech savvy so she can do all of the computer stuff.

Of course, I hope things will ease up a bit before we go in mid April. We haven't gotten our air tickets yet so that's going to be our next step.

What would have happened if your tests had been positive in Italy?

16. You might want to look into travel insurance--some policies are covering issues with COVID-19

Should you have a real or false-positive test, that might be quite the trip saver.
