The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsAnyone know about the cost for 3d printing service?
There are ads on google, but I was hoping someone in the Lounge has had experience with this. My need is very small. I want to make a miniature Adirondack Chalet with the top half of the interior solid, and the lower half open. If I had skills, I would do it myself with hypertufa, but I think even hypertufa is difficult to work with unless you're pouring it into a mold.
So, is 3D printing service affordable for something of this nature?

1. Material
2. For final use or as a model.
3. What kind of detail do want?
4. What kind of finish?
6. How many pieces? (A set up for one piece is the same as for 100: qty reduces per piece price)
7. Are there details on your piece that don't lend themselves to a particular 3-D process or material?
8. Do you have a drawing, scan, digital drawing in 3-D of the part?
I'd contact a 3-D printer and I pick his brain. Then maybe another. Or someone who teaches it.
I'd budget $200 for a simple small single piece.
