Also I don't know how people can even walk in those slides without fall on their faces.

I wear them when I garden sometimes and the back part of the slippers always catch on something when I'm trying to move around in a tough spot.

I certainly hope he doesn't kill or injure it.

However entertaining, there is an official hotline for nuisance animals 866-392-4286.

That was a small gator and hardly an imminent threat. Kids of the Miccosukee tribe in South Florida grow up with them twice or more as large and almost never is it necessary to kill them. I know this first hand from time working with them and the Seminole tribe on mercury-related health issues in the Everglades. Of course native people still have the capacity to respect the wildlife around them.

a call. They would have humanely taken the animal into custody and released it in a more appropriate spot. But, that would not have made a hit video.

It was in the guy's driveway. Couple of things, the guy may have been concerned that before Fish and Wildlife arrived the gator
- would get lost in the neighborhood and cause anxiety if no one knew where it was.
- would harm any pets /and or children in the neighborhood and then would have to be put down
- would be shot, injured or killed

So even though the gator experienced some scary activity, in the long run I'm glad the fellow captured it and then released it in an appropriate area.

Here's an article with an extended video showing how the man relocated the gator.

Btw, one comment in the tweet thread suggested that if Florida Fish and Wildlife did capture it, they probably would've put it down because of it's size. Not sure how accurate that is, but if true, then this fellow saved it's life.

I will take a look at the video you posted!

My grandparents were from County Mayo. They immigrated in the 1920's to the US.

Many Irish Americans are not sure where their Irish ancestors were from in Ireland.
So I am glad you have the name of the town and county. That is really neat.
