(86,609 posts)So my go to creative outlet is music first, then some form of craft or artwork that keeps me thinking like beadwork or drawing/painting.

(70,103 posts)it's a weird thing. mmj fixed some neuro issues i didnt even realize i had.
my vocal chords were always cramped. made my voice so flat, my kids didnt let me hum.
rly changed my speaking voice, so i figured, why not. i had a ton of singing lessons as a kid. went to catholic school. trust me, those nuns taught us to sing.
and i do sing when i'm alone. a lot.
my joke is- i just want to hang out in irish bars, and sing for pints and proposals.
You've loftier aims than I. May you be well rewarded with plenty of both!
I used to sing only when alone, and I'd stop whenever anyone came into earshot out of self-conscious embarrassment.
Then I learned a few opera arias, and practiced them til the dog stopped howling.
Now I just belt out any old tune any old time, and it's a great feeling to be spontaneous and joyful without any concern about being harshly judged.
Next up... dancing.

(14,891 posts)Since I was a kid I've drawn, and hope to get back to painting. I did abstract sculpture for a short period of time in the '80s.
I did beading for a long time, might do a bit in the future
I've been making unique wire jewelry w/wo semi-precious gens, water pearls since early '90s.
I learned knitting around '02-'03 by book.
Then learned crochet in '07 on line.
I've made unique artist books - where you use the book form - single fold, pamphlet, multi-signature, scroll, and more as your canvas.
I've got a few things more I'd to try even if only once, while continuing my other efforts.
