(6,253 posts)It pleases me to see every single person, man, woman or child, wearing a hat, and every woman wearing her hair up. I argue with other costume geeks, who think that because they've seen something on a character in a movie, that it's historically accurate. Pride & Prejudice or Gone With The Wind are not historical documents (TM - Galaxy Quest (1999))!

Not sure if the color on the clothing was accurate or not because it was added after the fact.
I think the BBC TV version of P&P 1985 was fairly accurate. What do you think? The other versions were rubbish, costume wise I think.

(6,253 posts)It's definitely my favorite version. The costumes look good to me.
I'm also a big fan of the website Frock Flicks. They had a great review of the costumes of P&P 1985 -- https://www.frockflicks.com/costuming-pride-and-prejudice-1995/

(47,313 posts)It is the absolute best version out there.
None of the rest can hold a candle to it.
Of course P&P is one of the best novels in English literature.
Many thanks for the website, looks like I am going to have a lot of fun.
