Angus on the half-pipe.

Several years ago a man gave me a skateboard half-pipe, 16'x24'. Large. It was in several
pieces, all marked and each one was very heavy. I set up my transit and got all of the corners level.
With some help, I got it all put together. It was pretty nice, with platforms on the top of each side, safety rails
and steel edges on the top of the curve. My son and his pals were skateboarders at the time, and the
place became the hangout for them. I told them, "I have no insurance on you so you're not allowed
to get hurt." Of course, pain is a part of skateboarding, but no one got really hurt.
One morning, right after bird hunting season had started, I went outside early and there were a dozen
black Angus steers on the half-pipe. My first thought was that they would damage the thing, but no.
I wish now that I had taken a photograph. They just wanted to be cool too.
Every year, after quail hunting season starts, the hunters on the BLM land drive the cattle to my place.
I took the pipe apart about a year later and gave it to one of the guys dad. Glad to be rid of it.
