(28,394 posts)I used to use Desitin on the kids, but don't know if it's still available.

(20,277 posts)I remember it had a slight medicinal smell. I never thought of Desitin! I'll bet that would work really well.

(28,791 posts)air drying is best. hydrocortisone or calamine for the itching if necessary, but nothing is better if you can stand it. definitely no oil based products, they plug up the sweat glands.

(47,675 posts)All you need to do is snap off a stem and squeeze the pulp out. I got stung by a bee in '83 when I picked up my soda can that I'd left outside the garden center. It got me right on the lip. I took off for the back of the store and grabbed a small clip from one of the aloes. It worked. Rashes respond to it as well, as do shingles (not a rash, mind you). I don't know of anything better and they grow like weeds.

(9,894 posts)that diligence with medicated powder works. And keeping it dry, which isn't easy, of course, because if you weren't sweating you wouldn't have it in the first place.

(35,730 posts)I hate to recommend it because it's so environmentally unsound, but wear 100% cotton for all your clothes and undies and you will notice a real difference. Another thing, too, is to stop whenever getting overheated and either sit under a fan or change clothes.

(2,682 posts)I've found a cool oatmeal bath followed by a medicated powder (like Gold Bond) works well for me. Loose fitting clothing is a must.

(1,675 posts)bakingsoda made in to a paste with water is what my mother did when I was little. She also used corn starch when I was little but that was in the 70's so corn starch didnt have sugar in it as far as I know.
