like that would need plastic surgery after the lacerations healed. She does not suffer human fools.

Since I don't want a severed aorta I never have tried to put a costume on her.

Anyhow, the costumes' little fake arms make the cats and dogs thus attired look like tiny centaurs.

you might not be left alive for plastic surgery.

He is good at the vet's, though. He was a rescue cat and may remember how those people healed his hurts and gave him a warm place to eat and sleep.

He does have his cat boundaries, however.

cower. And that's just when I make the appointment. Before I hang up, they remind me several times to give her the anti anxiety pill that they prescribed and to put a towell sprayed with Felliway in her carrier. When we arrive, they greet us with a cat muzzle in hand and a container of treats to distract her with during the exam and shots. If she's calm, they try the treats first. If she's agitated, she gets the muzzle instead.

Edit to add:
She has a very strong sense of boundaries about her physical space. But she really is friendly to people at home, where nobody pokes and jabs at her with needles. I need to get a video of her at bedtime when she snuggles her face next to mine, purrs up a storm, and nudges my hand to be petted. If I showed that to the vet and assistants, they would not believe that it's the same cat.
