(24,504 posts)New players have to front tooling costs - at least 50% - balance at sample approval. So the game is how to get most component variations while minimizing tooling cost. Tooling inserts....But has to be designed and built into the mold at the front end.

(32,688 posts)That is how I look at fair market value. The market changes every day depending on demand. Someone bids $200. So the bid just below that becomes the next value. From the high bid, it can go up and down. Back in the 90s, I had a retail antique store. Back then almost everyone went by the latest published antique guide. Then came eBay and prices started to go by a more current market.
I had a large box of vintage door knobs and might sell a set every month or two. Then one day a lady came in and bought 8. Next day more were sold and a week or later they were all gone. Found out Martha Steward suggested making coat racks out of them and the market price shot up.
A lot like Bitcoins on a small scale.

(18,247 posts)someone had dreew a cartoon of a man in a well known store and was looking at a bust of batman that sold for $200 during christmas . months later he was at a thrift stor and saw the same figurine at $20.00. later on ebay the same figurine went for again at $200. . so, how much markup and greed was involved there . i feel that the most realistic price for batman was $20.00. my humble opinion only.
