They just seem to get more and more annoying so many of them are Insurance ads

(25,862 posts)These days, when I'm at someone's house and they have the TV on but don't mute commercials, I'm driven bat-shit crazy.
The very best thing about not having a regular TV is no commercials. Don't get me wrong. I do watch my share of TV, just on various internet platforms where I never see commercials. Sigh. It's wonderful. The very, very best part is that in election cycles I never see political commercials. How lucky is that?

I'd probably toss the television in the trash if I had to suffer commercials again.

(10,208 posts)I never answer numbers I dont recognize and then block them. But theyve got some way to generate phone numbers so they are back again. I leave my phone off, at least the ringer, all day which bothers me, I might miss an important call. The majority of these calls come in 9-3 on weekdays but Ive been getting some earlier or later or on the weekend. Used to be if you ignored them a couple theyd quit but that doesnt seem to work any more.

(9,959 posts)... something else to watch, yes. Also, the last 15 minutes of most news programs is mostly ads... turn it off and wash the dishes.

And everytime I find it remarkable that it wasn't that many years ago TV was like this for everyone.
