I just have and I have no idea why. Some people are so touchy.

(25,862 posts)I have a friend who frequently gets a time out, and either he has someone, or several someones, who are quick to complain about his posts, or once his first time out happened their algorithms kept on tracking him.
I've adopted a "If I can't say something nice, then I don't say anything at all" standard there. I've also stopped following the right week "friends" whose opinions I totally disagree with. Nothing I might post will change their opinions, so why get myself worked up?

(25,862 posts)Facebook, I gather, has no way of appealing any decision.
When it happens to my friend, he always gets a notice telling him what post caused his time out.

(1,850 posts)I closed my facebook account years ago without ever having been sent to timeout or kicked off.
Now I feel like I wasted my shot! Take pride in the quality of the people (and organizations) that you've offended

(6,537 posts)It's unoriginal, and apparently they didn't pay overtime to think it up.
I joined FB to follow someone, but never posted. Now the person I followed has quit, and my account just lies there unused. But, I am over at IG, and now they refer to FB as "Meta." And they have bugged my email with requests to follow, never noticing that I am not there.
I followed someone who requested me to follow them. Then, after three days, they dropped me and also kicked me off their follow list. This happens, as people troll for follows. I wasn't attached to them, as they pushed on behalf of a third party, and I was watching to see what their intent was. Usually, when one of them drops me, I drop them back. This person took themselves off my list. But, this person has reappeared, and somehow they are back on my follow list. How did that happen?? I don't have a problem with that (I don't exactly host a crowd,) but I feel like I have no control over it, feel like I have been hacked, although no content has been disturbed. It's just social media. As long as they don't promote something evil or uncomfortable, I'm okay with it. But, WTF?
I once gave a condolence to someone for their dead pet, and the next thing I knew I was taking a swan dive onto the pavement. It hurt so bad, and I never knew why. Don't put your faith in social media, but in those beings that are really in your life. That's what I learned.

(15,941 posts)I was actually annoyed about that. I felt it was like being called for a ticky-tack taunting penalty in the NFL. Looking for a way to circumvent that and get back on.
