In the twenty third moon of the "Great Trum Plague", the people had---alas!---been riven by a virus

even more deadly than that which laid low so many mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters---even little ones. And, that most deadly virus was called by the name "ignorance".

In ways not foreseen or even imagined, ignorance had so infected the minds of the Trum People that absurdities vomited out by their fellows were taken as Sacred Truths. Any who denied these Sacred Truths were considered disgusting "Unmurikans" and virtually any form of attack on them was not just justified, it was encouraged.

And, lo, it came to pass---even as the Bidenites were suffering the slings and arrows of outrageous pundits---that, in a small town never before spoken of, one the Trum People certainly thought an Unmurikan peasant raised his head, squared his shoulders, stiffened his spine and spake "Say to me no longer that we must abide ignorance in silence lest we anger the Trum People! Let THEM abide our decency and honesty or be driven out into the wilderness called "Shittow Taluc"!

And, as was their nature, as soon as the Trum People recovered from their shock that one so "ordinary" had dared speak thus so brazenly, they began to threaten the defier with all manner of harms and indignities and smirked as they waited for him to flee in panic.

But, their was no panic; no flight. Instead, they saw a determined man meeting their gaze with a squinty glare, rolling up his sleeves and saying, through clenched teeth, "Maketh my day!"

Yellowed puddles formed at the feet of most of the Trum People before the first whimper was heard---"Just remembered---- gotta be some place soon!" and as that whimperer turned to leave, the Trum People mob fled in a stampede so thunderous that their cowardly excuses could not be heard.

And, decency and honesty again ruled the multitudes while, lo and behold, the curing of ignorance soon also cured the Trum Plague!
