I hang out in the science fiction world, and several years ago I was at a park in Nebraska to watch the solar eclipse with one very famous science fiction writer. Winner of many, many awards, adored by all in the field. And there, she was completely anonymous. Which she clearly enjoyed because she was just able to be an ordinary person chatting with people.

Someone like Kevin Bacon is clearly in a different category altogether, and I was amused by what he said at the end.

I definitely recognized him, mostly because he was so thin and tiny, he just kind of stood out because of that. And he has kind of sharp features (from being so thin), so that made him recognizable as well. Also, his style of dress was kind of quirky.

I didn't say anything to him. It's kind of an unwritten rule as a resident that you leave them alone unless you really have something relevant to say.

Lots of celebs shop there. I thought he was taller but nope. He's perfectly purportioned though.
