I know the cause of all our troubles

I am old enough to remember how our parents warned us in the late 1950s that rock and roll would destroy civilization.

We were warned!

I showed him with history books, how after the Civil War the so-called "patent medicines" his parents bought had opium, morphine, cocaine (some for kids!) and even heroin in them.

How after WW1 and WW2, soldiers coming back home had morphine addictions.

How people in the 1950's and 1960's popped speed and sleeping pills like candy.

I explained to him the lyrics of the Rolling Stones' "Mother's Little Helper."

After that, he continued to slam drugs, (while drinking until his "shoes were full," of course,) but he no longer blamed the Beatles.

The Beatles went with the crowd, they didn't get the crowds started.

7. Aren't those the parents who voted Nixon in 69, who then did kick off the destruction of our nation.
