Name your non-vice personal addiction.

Me?

I've become rather addicted to olive oil. On pasta, on sandwiches, on salad, on bread, frying my eggs in--I have absolutely love the stuff. And I'll apply it extremely liberally.

Dare I say I could drink it straight from the bottle if I really wanted to. Of course, that would be silly and I would never actually do that...or would I?

like just plain carbonated water. Keeps me hydrated, it's cheaper than Gatorade/etc, and more interesting than plain water.

I'm not Bulgarian, but here's hoping the long-life health impacts they see eating it consistently will transfer to some of us in the West.

I have my faves that I use over & over, but I have a trove of new stuff I'll probably never use. I just can't resist a palette of watercolors or a set of glitter pens or a new set of brushes.

I know that’s not good I rarely drink coffee nowadays though it seems like the verdict on coffee has changed the last few years and it’s supposed to be healthy in moderation. I really don’t drink enough water though.

The closest I can get on this diet is sugarless choc peanut butter ice cream and hot choc.

Its painful. I'm afraid I'll completely lose it when the xmas cookies start showing up.

Kevin O'Leary of Shark Tank fame, collects olive oil. I've been very happy with California Olive Ranch brand that I can get at my local grocer. I also got a couple of bottles from Costco that were really nice.

Apparently there’s a widespread problem in the industry (at least at the time he wrote the book) with even well-known brands mixing in inferior or even rancid oils. California Olive Ranch got high marks from him at the time. I haven’t revisited the issue since I read the book, probably should. Here’s a short article that summarizes the problem:

I like them even better. They're made with a blend of aspartame (Equal) and acesulfame potassium (Ace K). I think they taste more like the real thing.
