(28,125 posts)I agree with you; I'm not put off by his appearance. I try to see value in most all critters....roaches & ants are exceptions.
Oh, and water moccasins and most all poisonous snakes.
(We have seen some big, fat, scary moccasins on our property - we live on a lake. I love seeing big black snakes come hunting the moccasins.
Folks, please don't kill black snakes. TY!)

(90,773 posts)Except alligators. I'm in Louisiana and I enjoy nature walks - so I have learned to keep a respectful distance from them but it's a safe bet that I will run into one or two.
Water moccasins are more likely to keep me away from an area than alligators. Same with other poisonous snakes.
Some areas have signs posted when the snake population is high or they're breeding/have young, and others to warn of gators. I see the snake signs and I go elsewhere.
