and retrieve the paper, no matter the weather. People would stop to watch and those dogs were focused on the paper and the biscuit reward. They refused to be distracted.

And that is one sweet slobbery mastiff... great dogs.
But not very long lived. And they cost a small fortune to feed...

The generic term for the actual work is mail carrier.
