Who all do you tip for the holidays (mailman, newspaper delivery person, yard crew, ...)?

How much do you tip?

A friend of mine tips her garbage men.

edited to add: Include if your mailman delivers your mail to your door or at the end of your driveway

Fifty dollars for lawn guy. 50 for mailman. That’s it. The beer for garbage workers is something I brought with me as an adult. My parents always gave a case to garbage workers. I follow the tradition. They seem happy enough.

don't know if it would make it to the crew so I'd have to make sure I'm here when they come.

of the lawn. I’m glad I don’t have 4 or 5….lol. That’d be 200 to 250 dollars every year.

They may be talking about prepaid Visa/Mastercard cards, but I don't really know.

Employee Tipping and Gift-Receiving Policy

All postal employees, including carriers, must comply with the Standards of Ethical Conduct for Employees of the Executive Branch. Under these federal regulations, carriers are permitted to accept a gift worth $20 or less from a customer per occasion, such as Christmas. However, cash and cash equivalents, such as checks or gift cards that can be exchanged for cash, must never be accepted in any amount. Furthermore, no employee may accept more than $50 worth of gifts from any one customer in any one calendar year period.

Postman delivers to my apartment building, but I met him for the first time this year (after several years). I never realized there was an allowable limit for postal employees or that cash was verboten, but he's a good guy, so......
In return, for each of the past two years, he has made me a really beautiful origami ornament.

I don't directly use any other services.

Don't really have other service providers on a regular basis. I do tip service people who come to the house to do repairs. Had a couple of electricians a couple of months ago. They did a great job gave, were friendly, polite and told me what they were doing. Gave them each $10.

Because he goes above and beyond for me. I've never figured out who my regular UPS guy is, they do pretty good but I never seem to have the regular one around this time of year. I give the postmaster at our post office a bag of mistletoe. Most everyone is sick and tired of cookies and candy by the time I get around to doing anything.
