Woke up with this song in my head, which I probably haven't heard in 20+ years. Seems currently applicable.

(18,657 posts)Even this song, written by David Crosby, was recorded without him. When told of the plan he was upset that he couldn't even play rhythm guitar on his own song.
After a heated discussion, the others told Crosby to go home for a while. While gone, Stills, playing guitar, organ, and bass, recorded it with drummer Dallas Taylor. When Crosby returned he admitted he was "flabbergasted", though more recently he claims he played guitar on the track and is so credited on recent releases.
This was recorded shortly after bass player Greg Reeves was fired because he "suddenly decided he was an Apache Witch Doctor". I never met him, but he grew up near me.
Thanx for posting!
BTW, the album cover shows them in reverse order. When they returned for a reshoot, the house had burned down. I believe it was taken by Cleveland rock photog Henry Diltz. I'm surprised he didn't just try to flip the negative. LOL

It's been a long time comin'
It's goin' to be a long time gone.
Appears to be a long time,
Yes, a long, long, log time
Before the dawn.
Turn, turn any corner.
Hear, you must hear what the people say,
You know there's something that's goin' on here,
That surely, surely, surely won't stand the light of day.
And it appears to be a long,
Such a long, long, long time before the dawn.
Speak out, you got to speak out against
The madness, you got to speak your mind,
If you dare.
But don't try to get yourself elected.
If you do you had better cut your hair.
'Cause it appears to be a long time,
Before the dawn.
It's been a long time comin',
It's been a long time gone.
But you know, the darkest hour,
Is always just before the dawn.
And it appears to be a long time,
Such a long, long, long time before the dawn.
