a good sign? run on antigen tests for covid....

It's been reported that there are shortages of at-home covid tests and they are very difficult to find either on-line or in pharmacies. But the reasons are unclear.

We've been looking since we have a rule that if we invite family over for festivities, everyone has to be tested ahead of arrival and masked when not eating.

Well, this morning a local CVS had some, and it was pandemonium. You would think they had the last food for hundreds of miles. All people waiting in line looked healthy and were masked, and most were buying 6-8 tests.

So hopefully a lot of people are doing what we are doing. I'm sure that isn't the case down south though, but every little bit helps.

And get an appt for a free drive-through test. They also have some walk-up tests. These are monitored. And FREE.
I'm not sure why the media isn't mentioning these free test opportunities. You have to sign up ahead of time and get an appt, and maybe that's an issue, but I'd rather do that than fight the crowds.

Walgreens and CVS both offer these free tests-- the rapid ones and the PCR.

If you have insurance, they'll want your insurance number. If you don't have insurance, no problem-- it's still free.

I'm getting a rapid test this afternoon before I get on a flight. 30 minute results. (Negative, I hope!)
