I'm well supplied for hunkering down as 2021 departs and 2022 arrives

Not to mention the forecasted snowfall. I've got plenty of food for the felines, both indoor and outdoor, and plenty of food and drink for me. Thanks to my brother, the snow blower is ready to use, as is the generator (knock wood, that won't be necessary).

This afternoon I'll bring in some firewood and put it to good use, tonight. It will be fun to watch how the kittens react. So, New Year's Eve will be spent in front of a roaring fireplace, eating pizza, drinking beer, binge watching something - not sure what - and, best of all, playing with the little fur ball, sweet as can be snuggle bug boys.

And, of course, checking in on, scrolling through, and sometimes responding to DU posts.

Here it's gonna be me, the rescue dog, the ex barn cat, a nice red wine, roasted baby eggplants with chorizo Bruschettas. Your fireplace sounds nice but it is 82 here today.

I was afraid I didn't have enough coffee this morning and was glad I found a bag of beans I'd forgotten! It's chilly (single digit above and below 0) and blowing snow, supposed to be like that until Sunday. It's been snowing for two days but it's all being configured into drifts. The wind has been blowing very hard here, like in Denver, for weeks and not looking to end anytime soon. I don't plan to go anywhere before Monday so I'm stocked up too. The best part is I have the big grey kitty here for a week or two while his human moves into her new house, finally. She's been homeless for six months but for two of them she was house-sitting and took the kitty back for a while. My new place isn't a great place for this cat in particular, he can't go outside here, and it's hard for him at times. When he goes back, he'll have 8 acres to roam and a barn to chase mice in.

Have a happy new year, glad the kitty scene is a good one these days! Stay warm and safe.

and your precious little ones. Indoor and outdoor.
Give Madoc a big hug for me.

When its 12 I'm going to drop a ball for Othello.

A ball cat toy. A sparkly crunchy cat ball with bells jingling inside it. Tied some ribbons to it along with the twine.

I think spending the first half hour with his playful joy is the best way to ring in the New Year. No one
but me and my sweet Othello.
