Twenty years ago I made a New Year's resolution to be less cynical

It lasted 12 hours, 8 of which I was asleep.
So I changed my resolution and resolved to drink more.
The circumstances were then NY Governor George Pataki's last inaugural address.
He ran against NYC comptroller H. Carl McCall and ran in his 2 term record claiming everything was great. On New Years day at 12 noon he gave a gloom and doom speech.
Needless to say my resolution went out the door.
My only resolutions this year is to bust my butt and I open my wallet to elect as many Democrats as possible and to keep myself and my family alive.
