Does anyone else here ever have computercidal feelings about autocorrect?

And autocorrect just changed "computercidal" in the thread title to "computer video" before I corrected it.

And it just changed "computercidal" in the line above to "computer I'd a" - interesting...

I got a hide once on a DU post regarding Al Franken…autocorrect insisted on Frankenstein instead of Franken…I corrected it multiple times and thought I’d won and BAM…it posted Frankenstein before I could fix it yet again. DUers let me have it. I’m a grown ass woman and I can spell without autocorrect.

I.e. real time auto-correction and grammar distracts from concentration on the actual written text.

Format and spell check AFTER you create something worth typing.

I like to take liberties with English to make a point, a joke, or flip a concept on its back. Autocorrect makes my writing unintelligible and gibberishasticical.

... because those who ARE good at proofreading, can usually recognize a misspelled word when they see it.

But then again, if you're already good at proofreading you really don't need autocorrect anyway, am I right?
