Pinky, the dog, wanted to go to her owner's room upstairs. Leo, the cat, sat on top of the stairs blocking her way. Pinky was scared but tried to get past him. She cautiously moved backward around him and darted into the room just as Leo pawed at her.

that is exactly what he did as I would try to go down the steps from the 2nd floor. He would literally go to the next step down from where I was standing and start scenting it and then lay completely across it and in my way. As soon as I tried to step down, he would move to the next step and repeat. After awhile, I was like MOVE! and although he still kept at it, he sped up his step-claiming process until I finally reached the bottom.
