Canadian passengers partied maskless on a charter flight to Mexico.

This is why I won't travel for the next year.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2022/01/07/canadian-group-stuck-in-mexico-party-flight/

Passengers on a Canadian charter flight danced, drank alcohol and vaped as they made their way from Montreal to Cancún, Mexico, the day before New Year’s Eve. Video footage of the rave-like atmosphere made its way onto social media, and the images of maskless travelers partying in the air amid surging coronavirus cases sparked broad condemnation.

Now, those passengers have found themselves waylaid in Mexico, with several airlines unwilling to fly them back to Canada as the trip’s organizer tries to negotiate their return.

More recent articles say other airlines are refusing to fly them back to Canada.
That was a couple days ago.

I've not heard if they are still in Mexico.

Police will escort the non-complying maskholes off the train at the next stop (or even before). Hard to do that at 30,000ft and one reason you don't hear about this happening on trains.

Plus we can book our own private roomette or bedroom.

Not flying again until people become civilized, the pandemic ends, or otherwise gets under control.

Oh, and the aforementioned idiots can stay in Mexico and so remove themselves from our gene pool.

If everyone on planes kept their masks on the HEPA filters would be effective. Trains don't have HEPA filters. Junk filters like the ones in house systems.

MERV filters & recycle with fresh air every several min.

And we can see how "good" those airline filters work with passengers crammed into every single seat:

Plus on long distance trains we have the option to put a wall between us and other passengers by having a private room.

And all passengers and crew must likewise be fully vaxed & masked:

Lots of outbreaks on planes. Never heard of a single one on VIA Rail Canada, which -unlike flights- have been operating reliably through the pandemic.

Take the plane if you want. I won't be.
