For an animal their size, they don't live long at all. Only about 4 years.

span was so short. That explains why the 2 I dubbed Oaf and Ollie haven't been seen around this year. We've got a smaller one visiting the area where I put seeds and nuts for the birds and squirrels. I've never seen a baby.

in a little doggie bowl. I also leave fresh water, which they also enjoy. They come up on our open front porch, and I have cameras, and I can watch them. Wonderful little wildlife.
