I'm reduced to buying the teeny cans from Petsmart because the supermarket is out. Of course, the cats love it, and they're costing me a lot of money.

(115,735 posts)I can find some of the chunky kind, but her favorite is the wild salmon florentine and I can't find it at the store. She eats better than I do, which is the way it should be.

(46,051 posts)They usually eat Friskies. I wonder if they'll go back to Friskies now that they're spoiled.

(18,650 posts)About 15-20 cats, all are fixed except for the 4 tabby kits w/white feet.
I just came back from feeding them. After 4 days they know me! They live in a patch of wooded area next to an on-ramp, behind a conv. store.

(12,480 posts)like a little cat village.
Each human village has its own culture and ways of doing things. Same with clowders.

(15,222 posts)I do rescue and Im having a hard time keeping the pantry full. So far none have gone hungry but weve had to resort to Costco rotisserie chickens a few times to supplement.
Im being told the shortage is due to the lack of aluminum for the cans. Not sure I believe that but thats what the pet store insists.

(12,480 posts)He does not like any human food. Believe me I have tried to find something he likes.
He eats catfood only.
However he wont eat it until he sees me eating my meal. So we eat at the same time, together.

(50,279 posts)just about nothing. I went in to check again today and there wasn't any litter either. Guess I'll have to make another online order assuming Chewy still has what we buy in stock.

(9,983 posts)I've been a Chewy customer for a year now. No problems. Yesterday they sent me a birthday card for my little tortie girl Winnie (I don't know when she was born so I guesstimated it. She's about 2) I recommend them. Occasionally something is out of stock briefly but never more than a couple of days. My girls will eat any variety of Fancy Feast and any flavor of Rachael Ray dry.

(2,820 posts)It has gotten better at my local Food store. When they were out I was able to find cases of cat food at Walmart. It depends on the day their supply comes in. If you wait for the weekend it will be gone. I noticed some of the cans were made of a different material.
You could try Amazon for cases also but be very careful of getting ripped off on Amazon when your looking at case prices and they show you a site for 2 cans and charge your $17.00. Never order when you're very tired. I complained to Amazon but to them a complaint is a fart in the wind.

(9,267 posts)My boys have to eat urinary formula so I get the 24-can case of Pro-Plan. So far so good. Half the time they only nibble at it as they much prefer their dry food (Iams Urinary). Brats.

(7,530 posts)Nice to have heavy pet items such as food and litter delivered, and if you set up Autoship you get a discount. Shipping is free for orders over $50. The prices are very competitive with the big retail pet stores.
Don't fear auto ship if you are a pet owner - It's very flexible: you set up recurring orders but you choose the schedule and can modify it as often as you want as long as no shipment is in progress, and freely swap items between shipments, add items for "one time shipment", hit "order now", "skip order" or reschedule and delay at any time. They send you an email reminding you a couple days before the auto ship date to let you know to change anything or re-schedule. Unless you know you won't be using Chewy frequently it's a great deal.
You can even set up multiple auto-ships - for example, monthly for food, and every six months for flea treatment drops or replacement collars.
Their customer service is great also. I got shipped dog food by accident and they advised me to donate it to a pet shelter or another pet owner instead of going through the hassle of returning it. They even love to see pictures of your pets and say they pass them around the office and hang up their favorites!

(51,122 posts)They only want to eat the gravy style Fancy Feast and we've never had an availability issue.

(7,530 posts)I've noticed my grocery store's bagged and packaged salad section has been nearly empty for a week. There are no cut-up salad and pre-washed greens to be had.
Luckily bulk produce (which I assume is more local) is still available. I imagine they might be having an issue with that particular supplier.
We've also got a winter weather advisory for tomorrow, so the bread section was a bit thin, but not depleted.
