Ok. Done and done.
Now I can hardly walk.
I got outside about half an hour before the snow turned to rain. The snow got pretty heavy as the rain fell.
Was trying to make sure the mail carrier could get to the mailbox. Silly me--there was no mail yesterday.

(13,588 posts)My back is great though. I did a lot of physical labor and had sports injuries as a kid. I'm 61.
I can't wait to get this knee built up and get back to my morning walks.

My guy is having hip replacement in May (that is, if the pandemic doesn't make the doctors cancel it).

(13,588 posts)it off until June after I was vaccinated. Then the knee was supposed to be in March, but I got the chance to go earlier. I had it done 12/15. I just quit physical therapy because of COVID risk, but I can take it the rest of the way myself. I think that was lucky to get it done before omicron got really bad. It's here now and running wild.

Your legs are needed for more important stuff, like walking to the tea kettle, then to a big chair near the window.
I hope your aches vanish quickly.

(38,559 posts)I haven't seen that in years. I even mentioned it to my guy a few days ago. ("Remember when the neighborhood kids used to walk around town w/ shovels after a snow storm? I used to make a few bucks doing that. We had one elderly neighbor we used to clear out for free." )
We do have a truck w/ a plow, but the trick is getting my guy out of bed early enough to get it done. It's not that he's lazy. He just has an "off" sleep schedule (back and hip ailments also make it hard for him to sleep well, so I leave him alone when he finally gets to sleep).

(102,283 posts)But, you damned well better already have contracted with them a long time ago to do your lawn or they will scoff at doing any snow plowing or shoveling. I'm a big walker so shoveling is a responsibility I take seriously (also legally required for sidewalks. But, damn if I don't encounter a heck of a lot of areas where the homeowner or HOA doesn't do so, or does it days later. So, frankly, I'd rather strap snowshoes on and walk unshoveled sidewalks or streets if they aren't all shoveled, but... )
I hope you have one of the more ergonomic "snow-pusher" type shovels. Here is mine (Home Depot or Amazon--- True Temper 1603400 Poly Snow Shovel/Pusher with Ergonomic D-Grip Steel Handle 18 Inch):

Therefore, the stuff on the ground (the stuff that needed to be cleared) got heavy.
